Vietnam wins three medals at the 2026 Wushu Taolu World Cup

Vietnamese Wushu team concluded its campaign at the 4th Wushu Taolu World Cup 2026 with an impressive haul of three medals, including one gold, one silver and one bronze.

The tournament was held from July 4 to 9 in Haikou, Hainan Province, China, bringing together nearly 200 elite athletes from more than 30 countries and territories to compete for 22 medal events.

Vietnam was represented by two athletes, Duong Thuy Vi and Nguyen Van Sy, who competed in their specialty events of swordsmanship (Jianshu) and spear (Qiangshu).

Duong Thuy Vi once again demonstrated her world-class ability by winning the gold medal in the women's Qiangshu event with a score of 9.746, finishing ahead of Malaysia's Pang Pui Yee to claim the championship title. She also secured a bronze medal in the women's Jianshu event after earning 9.730 points.

In the men's Jianshu event, Nguyen Van Sy delivered an impressive performance, scoring 9.740 points to capture the silver medal.

With a total of one gold, one silver and one bronze medal, Vietnam's Wushu team wrapped up the prestigious world tournament on a high note, reaffirming the country's competitiveness on the international stage while gaining valuable momentum in preparation for the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20) and other major international competitions.
