Vietnam wins three gold medals on opening day of the 2026 Asian Dancesport Championships

The 2026 Asian Dancesport Championships officially got underway in Ho Chi Minh City on July 9, bringing together thousands of athletes, coaches, and judges from 32 countries and territories to compete in 52 events sanctioned by the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF).

On the opening day, the Vietnamese team delivered an impressive performance, claiming a total of 13 medals, including 3 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals.

The experienced duo Minh Truong and Thu Huong once again demonstrated their dominance by winning two gold medals in the Pasodoble and Jive events. Meanwhile, Ngoc An and To Uyen secured a gold medal in Cha Cha and a silver medal in Rumba. Nam Anh and Anh Phuong added a bronze medal in the Samba event.

In the women's solo competition, Ta Lien Giang won four silver medals in Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, and Slow Foxtrot, along with a bronze medal in Quickstep. Ha Khanh Phuong won three bronze medals in Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, and Slow Foxtrot.

The 2026 Asian Dancesport Championships will run from July 9 to 12, featuring 52 events, including 35 official Asian Championship events. Hosting the tournament once again demonstrates Vietnam's growing capability to organize major international sporting events while providing valuable competitive opportunities for domestic athletes and promoting the country's culture and hospitality to the international community.
